Calgary Soccer Centre Roof Replacement
The Calgary Soccer Centre was the first indoor facility in Calgary that made it possible for Calgarians to play soccer year round.
The building has been exchanged between private ownership and the City over the years.
Constructed in the late 1980s, the facility was constructed with precast concrete panels around the perimeter with a steel truss dome roof system with a conventional single-ply PVC membrane roof.
Durable material for the roof finish was provided to fortify the lifespan of the roof.
Entuitive was retained to provide roof consultant services for the centre.

KEY CONSIDERATIONS
Challenge One
Replace a large dome roof assembly and provide a long life high-performance roof.
Solution One
Entuitive incorporated a design to double the effective thermal resistivity of the roof with increased insulation and complete the roof with a standing seam metal roof that would be more resistant to hail. This was an important feature, as Calgary is routinely prone to this type of weather. Durable material for the roof finish was provided to fortify the lifespan of the roof.
