Rising 41 stories with two iconic towers, Diega is a landmark addition to the heart of San Diego’s Broadway Block.

The 617-unit, sustainable buildings provides a sky garden, pool, amenity area, and even a designated pet zone.

Occupants and visitors alike can enjoy underground parking, with dining and retail amenities over 49,000 ft² of commercial space. The project is targeting LEED Gold design and construction requirements.

KEY CONSIDERATIONS

Challenge One

The developer was new to LEED and was required to meet rigorous CalGREEN sustainable development guidelines with a LEED Gold mandate.

Solution One

We worked closely with the developer to maximize opportunities for LEED performance strategies and increased the efficiency of the building to enhance energy performance.

Challenge Two

Busy urban infill site undergoing gentrification in an area with many residences and local businesses.

Solution Two

We employed green construction and housekeeping practices, stakeholder engagement, and ongoing communication with the surrounding community to garner support for the project while protecting the surrounding environment.
