The award recognizes a rising structural engineer who gives back to the industry and acts as a champion within their firm and community.
The Structural Engineering Association of New York (SEAoNY) has awarded Entuitive’s Stephanie Berrios with the Young Engineer of the Year Award at the 2024 Structural Engineering Excellence (SEE) Awards in New York City.
Stephanie has been with Entuitive for six years, since completing her bachelor’s degree at Columbia University. She has also since completed her master's degree in civil engineering.
Stephanie has contributed to a variety of projects at Entuitive, ranging from new construction to restoration to specialty structures. Notable projects include:
MTA Design-Build for Replacement of 6 Escalators
New York State (NYS) Thruway
LaGuardia Delta Headhouse Building Envelope 3rd Party Reviews
Pueblo Viejo Mining Facility
Emeryville Public Market Development
Stephanie’s most impactful work to date has been on St. John’s Terminal, Google’s new NYC Headquarters at 550 Washington. Her role on the project included the overall gravity design of the overbuild floors, detailing the intricate terrace areas with elevation drops, designing the transfer floor plate girder cantilevers, and running a construction sequencing model to understand the movement of the building as construction progressed.
Entuitive’s work on 550 Washington was also recognized by SEAoNY with an SEE Award for Forensic Analysis, Renovation, Retrofit and Rehabilitation of Structures.
Stephanie has been a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers since her time at Columbia University, participating in seminars to help complement the learning experiences she has acquired while working on projects.
She believes engineers exist as translators that take a design vision and help bring it to life through communication between the clients, design team, and contractors.
Congratulations to Stephanie! We are proud to work with such incredible talent!
